Differences Between Book and Movie

Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning Thief is a book and a movie. The movie is unlike the book in many ways.

Percy is supposed to be twelve so is Annabeth
Yancy Academy is Private School not a public school
Annabeth is supposed to have blonde curly hair
Where is Nancy Bobofit
Mrs. Dodds has been the pre-algebra teacher since Christmas she is not the Substitute English teacher
Where is Clarisse
The bus they get off is supposed to explode
The whole point of the book is to get the bolt from the Underworld not to get the pearls
Percy gets the pearls after jumping into the Missisippi River
Luke does steal the bolt and tries to bring it to Tartarus but Ares stops him and steals the bolt instead and hides it in Percy’s backpack and it will only appear in the backpack when Percy is in the Underworld.
There is no woman with them when they confront Medusa
Cerberus is not in the movie but he is in the book
Percy doesn’t consult the Oracle in the movie
Dionysus isn’t in the movie
Annabeth doesn’t have her invisisbility cap
The hellhound doesn’t come during capture the flag
Annabeth is supposed to be on Percy’s team for capture the flag
Persephone isn’t supposed to be in the Underworld
Poseidon is supposed to have a blue beard not a red one and black hair
